Strawberry Riesling Slushies
I’ve been wanting to make this slushy for what seems like FOREVER. I bought all of the ingredients and made several plans to make this drink for various friends and each plan fell through. I’m not really a Riesling drinker. Riesling tends to be a little sweet for me. Plus, I don’t want anyone else to think I’m a Riesling drinker, so I needed to get this bottle the heck out of my fridge. Or (the more likely story) I was ready for a slushy drink to go with our warm weather! So, I set out to make this drink last night and wouldn’t you know it? The temperature dropped 30 degrees and it started raining. Hmph. Then, our blender broke. Am I not supposed to have this drink or what?
Also, I realize my photo isn’t the best – hello rain??? Plus taking a photo of a slushy isn’t really going to give you an indication of anything other than color. To liven things up, I thought I’d do a little shout out to the University of Colorado Buffaloes! Go Buffs!
Ingredients
16 oz bag of whole frozen strawberries
1 bottle [750ml] dry Riesling
Juice from 1 fresh lime
2 tablespoons sugar
Directions:
1. Reserve 1 cup of the Riesling (see Number 3)
2. In a food blender, puree strawberries with the remaining wine, lime juice and sugar.
3. Drink OR pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze until solid. When you’re ready to serve [or drink], puree the ice cubes with the remaining wine in your blender.
Enjoy on a warm day!

WoW! I got lucky and found this. My best friend has been wanting to make wine slushies for awhile because we went to a place downtown that served them. And now I have the recipe!! Woo hoo! Thanks!!
I hope you enjoy it! We drank our slushies straight from the blender, but I look forward to the ice cube version this weekend! Let me know how it goes. Thanks for visiting.
